How do I create a new comment?

Updated on

The primary use case for Comments is to capture textual comments related to a given Matter. In addition to capturing text Comments are also categorized and date-stamped.

A new comment can be created from the Comment list, Comment related list or using the Comment global action. The global action is an excellent way to quickly create a new comment without the need to navigate to a list or matter. The default data entries for comments are as follows:

  • Topic: a brief description of the comment.

  • Type: a way to categorize your comment. Useful for filtering in lists, reports, and automation processes.

  • Matter: optionally assign the comment to a specific Matter.

  • Date: defaulted to the current date but may be subsequently modified.

  • Comments: rich text formatted comments.
