How do I utilize the new expense form?

Updated on

The AdvoLogix Matter Management package includes a lightning component based expense form, which facilitates your users' ability to log an expense against a configured fee arrangement for your matters.

Your administrator can utilize the new expense form in the following ways:

  • Go to Salesforce Setup | Object Manager.
  • Search for Matter within the objects list and select to open it.
  • From the sidebar, select Page Layouts.
  • Find and edit the desired page layout where you want to put the new expense quick action for your users.
  • Within the page layout editor, select Mobile & Lightning Actions.
  • Find the action named New Expense and drag and drop it on the section labelled Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions.
💡TIP: If this section is not allowing drag and drop, then you may need to first click on the link labelled as override the predefined actions within the section.

Option 2: New Expense Action Button Override for Expenses

  • Go to Salesforce Setup | Object Manager.
  • Search for Expense within the objects list and select to open it.
  • From the sidebar, select Buttons, Links, and Actions.
  • Find the action labelled as New and click Edit from the row action drop-down menu.
  • Set the Lightning Experience Override to Lightning Component.
  • Select advpm:AdvoLogixExpenseEdit from the drop-down menu.
  • Click Save.

If using Option 2, then your users may not be able to perform inline editing on expense records within the detail view of expenses.
