Rate Groups allow you to organize rates for specific timekeepers to easily assign a group of rates for timekeepers to your open matters. Applying rate groups to matters will help automatically add or update rates for your open matters easily from the configured rate group members.
The improved rate group management user experience is available from AdvoLogix Matter Management v1.151 onward.
Users may apply rate groups to one or more matters from various contexts within the AdvoLogix application:
- Rate Group detail page: From the Applied Rates list on the Rate Group detail page, use the Apply Rate Group button to launch the flow and select one or more matters.
- Matter detail page: Use the Apply Rate Group quick action available on the matter record page to launch the flow and select one or more rate groups to apply the selected rate groups to the current matter record.
- Rates related list on the Matter detail page: From the rates related list, use the Add Existing Rates button to launch the flow and select one or more rate groups to apply the selected rate groups to the current matter record.
- Matters tab: Select multiple matters from the matters tab, use the Apply Rate Groups list button to launch the flow, and select one or more rate groups to apply to all the selected matters.
There are specifically two context-driven approaches to applying rate groups:
- when the invocation is from the context of one or more matters and
- when the invocation is from the context of the rate group.
Select one or more rate groups and click the Apply button to initiate the process of applying the selected rate groups to one or more matters based on the initiation context of this flow.
Step 1
If your rate group already has an account selected, the flow will automatically detect and pre-select the account here.
The next step will filter all the matters by your chosen account, which is the same as the primary account.
Step 2
Select one or more matters, and click the Apply Rate Group button to initiate the process of applying the current rate group to all the selected matters.
When a rate group is applied, rates will not be modified for closed matters or matters where the Do not auto-update rates from rate group checkbox is checked.
