Changing the Owner of a Matter

Selecting the Matters tab brings you to the 'Matters Tab home page'.  The Accounts tab displays a home page that lets you quickly create and locate all types of Accounts.

Click on the name of Matter to navigate to the Matter detail record.

Click the name of a Matter on the Matter List View

Choose Change

Choose Change

Click Change next to the name of the current owner.

1. Choose whether new owner is user (internal) or Customer Portal user (external)

2. Type all or part of the new owner's name in the search field

3. Click the look-up icon

* Clicking Lookup opens a lookup search dialog window that allows you to search for the person you want to add as the new owner.

** A blank lookup is performed when you click the lookup icon without entering a search term.

4. Select the Send Notification Email checkbox to notify the new owner.

* The “From” email address displayed in the notification is your return email address as set in the Email Address field of your email settings.

5. Click SAVE to save your changes.

You will be returned to the Matter detail page where you can observe the ownership changed.
