Unable to Import Activity Plan Templates Due to Error (MM)

Summary

The system admin is unable to import activity plan templates with a DataLoader error.

Question

Why does the error below show when I select one of my imported activity plan templates?

Attempt to de-reference a null object
An unexpected error has occurred. Your solution provider has been notified. (advpm)

Resolution/Workaround

You won't be able to import/export APTs with DataLoader. You will need to use the import/export on the APT.  Here are some general steps to follow:

  1. In a sandbox, go to the Activity Plan Template tab and select the Export button.  
  2. Then (still in the sandbox) switch to Classic to download the data file.
  3. In production (in Lightning), go to the Import Activity Plan Templates tab. If you do not find this tab in App Launcher, you may need to make the tab visible to your user profile.
