Mitratech CaseCloud Matter Management Release (version 1.173.x)

CaseCloud has adopted a continuous development model, where releases are made available monthly. Each release may include new features, bug fixes, and/or minor improvements. The releases are not automatically pushed to your organization, but can be updated from the CaseCloud Setup tab within our application. Click here for instructions on how to upgrade your organization to Mitratech CaseCloud Matter Management's latest release.

We've completely redesigned the CaseCloud Setup experience for Matter Management administrators. The legacy flat list of settings has been replaced with a streamlined, modern interface that makes it easier to find, manage, and monitor configuration settings.

Learn more in the CaseCloud Setup Tab Guide.

Key Highlights:

🧭 Smarter navigation: Setup is now organized into five groups: Overview, Matters, Work & Tracking, Documents, and Connected Apps, making it easier to find settings based on what you want to accomplish.

✨ A consistent editing experience: Every section now follows the same Edit > Save/Cancel workflow, and modern pick lists have replaced legacy dropdown controls.

🔗 Connected Apps visibility: The new Connected Apps group shows the status of CalendarRules, Spend Management, and Google Drive, so you can quickly identify which integrations are installed and configured.

🔒 Enhanced security: Sensitive credentials such as API keys, tokens, and client secrets are now masked, and organization-wide actions now require confirmation before they run.

💡 Idea Portal and roadmap built right in: Access the Idea Portal and product roadmap directly from the Overview page to submit ideas, vote on enhancements, and stay informed about upcoming improvements.

🔍 Application Guide search: A redesigned search experience on the Overview page is focused on the Application Guide.

📊 System status at a glance: View your installed and latest Matter Management versions, along with AdvoLogix Support access status, from a single location on the Overview page.

What has changed in each area:

🏠 Overview: The page now has a clear heading and a working Recent News feed. The Quick Links grid has been removed, since all of its links are available in the Matter Management Admin app.

🚦 Matter Status Configuration: Saving now asks for confirmation, because it starts a background job that marks matching matters as closed across your organization. A new optional Advanced mode lets you define closure criteria using a Field, Operator, and Value condition builder with AND/OR logic and relative-date conditions. Simple mode remains the default, and no existing configuration is converted automatically.

🕒 Timeline: Default record types are now grouped separately from custom record types. Default record types can be disabled but not removed, and their field mappings can be reviewed and edited even while disabled.

⚖️ Legal Hold: Each record type now shows its enabled or disabled state with an always-visible toggle. Acknowledgement, removal notification, reminder, callback, and email template settings are now edited together in a single section.

📅 Key Dates: The date field selection now supports search and filtering, and the check all action asks for confirmation before it runs, because it applies to every matter in your organization.

🔎 Conflict Check: Default objects are now grouped separately from additional objects, removing an additional object asks for confirmation, and the Filter field now includes syntax help and an example. The filter that was previously on the Account row now sits on the Participant row.

🕸️ Relationship Maps: The New Template window now offers field options in order, so View Relationships From becomes available after you select a Base Object. A warning now explains that Base Object and View Relationships From cannot be changed after saving.

👥 Participants: The Account, Contact, and User field selection list is now a data table with an editable Record Type column, with help text explaining where custom record types are configured.

🗓️ Matter Planner: The explanation of Show Only and Always Show for My Items now makes clear that they are independent settings.

📁 Files and Content: Fields such as Upload new files as? and Default Content Library now appear only when they apply to the selected display mode.

🤝 Community Sharing: The setting is now a single toggle with a status badge showing whether the required Matter External Users Access prerequisite is met. If it is not, the toggle is disabled and a link takes you to Salesforce Sharing Settings.

📋 Activity Plans: The page now separates Business Hours from Additional Columns, supports drag-to-reorder for custom columns, and shows the 4-column maximum per record type and where custom columns appear on Activity Plan templates.

📈 At a Glance: The page now separates the chart table, the Add Report form, and display options. It adds a Preview action and enforces a maximum of 4 charts per record type.

☁️ Google Drive: Google Drive configuration has moved from Files and Content to its own entry under Connected Apps. Contact AdvoLogix support to activate the Google Drive integration before enabling it for the first time.

If you saved bookmarks to specific sections of the previous Setup layout, save them again, since section locations have changed.

🚀 Matter Age Now Stops at Closure

The Matter Age (in days) field now stops counting when a matter is closed. For open matters, it continues to show the number of days since the matter was created. For closed matters, it shows the number of days from creation to closure, so the value remains meaningful as a lifecycle metric. Whether a matter is closed is determined by your Matter Status Configuration.
