The AdvoLogix CalendarRules integration adds support for the new dynamic Service Types feature in CalendarRules. For AdvoLogix users, this feature manifests when selecting the Service Type for a new docket. The options for Service Type selection can be dynamic (based on the selected court).

CalendarRules recently announced this feature as follows:

Until recently the list of Service Types has been static. If a particular court did not use a particular Service Type, the user just wouldn’t select it. There has been a recent rule change that prompted us to make the Service Type selector more “intelligent” ...

... "We now store and manage Service Types by Jurisdiction, so that if a Jurisdiction only uses a subset of the Service Types, we only return those Service Types. Similarly, if a single court has an odd or unique Service Type requirement, we can add it to the list for just that court, not clutter up the generic list which leads to user confusion."

• Add Court Rule to Activity Comments
  A new option to embed the Court Rule text in the Activity Comment. Previously we supported adding the Date Rule only. Now both options are available. Please review the CalendarRules global setup options to modify this behavior. NOTE: You will need to enable this option to obtain this new functionality.
  
  
• Court Entity Metrics
  The Import Court Entities area now displays metrics representing the breakdown of your court entities (Systems, Venues, Courts).

• Mass Change the Assigned User
  By default docket activities are assigned to the current user. The new “Mass Assign” option allows end users to quickly re-assign all docket activities to another user.
  
  
• Additional Columns in the Docket Activities View
  Activity Type and Priority columns have been added to the docket's activity list section.
  
  
• Trigger Date Recalculations
  When editing an existing docket, if  the trigger date is changed, a new confirmation dialog will verify your desire to reschedule the incomplete activity dates. Previously the incomplete activities were always rescheduled.
  
  
• Trigger Date Do Not Recalculate
  From the CalendarRules DoNotRecalculate documentation regarding Do Not Recalculate : 
  “This functionality is very important to any CA rules users. The use case relates to changing (postponing) Trial dates in CA courts, where CCP 2024.020 (b) provides that a continuance or postponement of a trial date does not operate to reopen discovery proceedings. This means that if a trial date is changed, several child events, and their sub-events, may not be updated. Namely Discovery Cutoff, Discovery Motion Cutoff, Expert Witness Discovery Cutoff, and Expert Witness Motion Cutoff, and their respective sub events.”
  
  Prior to this release, when editing an existing docket and when the trigger date was changed, activities were automatically recalculated, in the case above, these activities had to be manually changed back. With this update we now provide users the choice to 1) leave the activity dates as-is or 2) reschedule them according to the court rule, without regard to the Do Not Recalculate setting provided by CalendarRules.
