Set Up the HotDocs Configuration in Salesforce

Updated on

In Salesforce, you will need to complete the authentication configuration for the HotDocs connector. The values needed for this configuration must be gathered after completing the steps provided in the Set Up the API Credentials in HotDocs article.

Step 1: Enable Apex Setting

Before installing the connector, the system admin will need to enable the following setting in your Salesforce org:

  1. Go to Salesforce Setup.
  2. Enter Apex Settings into the Quick Find search box.
  3. Select Apex Settings from the left-side menu.
  4. Enable the Deploy Metadata from Non-Certified Package Versions via Apex checkbox.
  5. Select Save.

Step 2: Install the Package

The installation link will be provided by your account manager.  However, if you have not received the installation link, please get in touch with CaseCloud Support ([email protected]).

Step 3: Assign the Permission Set

Any user who will use the connector must be assigned to the HotDocs Admin or HotDocs User permission set.

Note to System Administrators:
If any HotDocs features or tabs are not visible to a user, then you will need to add this permission to one of the following three choices:

  • assign a permission set  -OR-
  • modify the profile -OR-
  • assign to the AdvoLogix permission set

Step 4: Create Remote Site

  1. In Salesforce Setup, enter Remote Site Settings in the Quick Find box, and select Remote Site Settings.
  2. Select New Remote Site and set the following options:
    • Remote Site Name - Enter a unique remote site name (no spaces).
    • Remote Site URL - Enter your HotDocs Advance Site URL. It should be similar to this:
      https://[your sitename].hotdocsadvance.com
    • Active - Enable this checkbox.
  3. Click Save.

Step 5: Set Up HotDocs Configuration

You can find the HotDocs Setup tab in the AppLauncher (waffle) at the top left of any Salesforce page.

  1. In the side menu, click HotDocs Configuration, then click Edit to make changes as highlighted in the steps below.
  2. HotDocs Base URL - [required] Enter your HotDocs URL here. The URL should be in the following format:
    https://[your site name].hotdocsadvance.com
  3. API Client Name - [required] Enter the DisplayName value copied during the setup of the Set Up API Credentials in HotDocs (see step 1).
  4. Principal Name - [required] Enter the PrincipalName value copied during the setup of the Set Up API Credentials in HotDocs (see step 2).
