To access Salesforce via the API & Client Applications from locations outside of your company's Trusted Network (e.g. Outlook Edition, Office Edition, Data Loader, Integrations, etc.) a Security Token will be required in combination with your password in the client applications.
Obtaining a Security Token
When accessing Salesforce.com from outside of your company’s trusted networks, you must add a security token to your password to log in to the API or a desktop client such as Connect Offline, Connect for Office, Connect for Lotus Notes, or the Data Loader.
Log into the AdvoLogix application
Access Setup

In AdvoLogix, click Your Name ➤ Setup

If you already have a current security token you can skip this step (*Clicking the Reset Security Token Button invalidates your existing token. After resetting your token, you will have to use the new token in all API applications.)
Click Your My Personal Information ➤ Reset My Security Token
Click the Reset Security Token Button
*For security reasons, your security token is delivered to the email address associated with your account.
**Your security token is tied to your password and subject to any password policies your administrators have configured. Whenever your password is reset, your security token is also reset.

Double click on the security token to highlight it and then right click on it and choose to Copy it (or use Ctrl+C)
*Please SAVE this email for later reference of your current Security Token (remember to replace it if you change your Security token)
