Viewing a Dashboard

Clicking the Dashboards tab displays the dashboard you viewed most recently. The top of the page shows the dashboard running user and the time of the last dashboard refresh.

On this page you can:

  • Click Go to Dashboard List to view your dashboards.
  • Find a dashboard using dashboard finder. Type a name in the View Dashboard field and choose a dashboard from the list of results. You can only see dashboards in folders you can access.
  • Click Edit to modify the dashboard.
  • Display a Chatter feed of updates, comments, and posts about the dashboard.
  • Click Clone to create a new dashboard with the same properties and components as the one you're currently viewing.
  • Click Refresh to load the latest data to the dashboard. Enterprise and Unlimited Edition users can schedule dashboard refreshes.
  • Change the running user for dynamic dashboards with user switching enabled. If you have “View All Data,” view the dashboard as any user in your organization; if you have “View My Team's Dashboards,” view as any user below you in the role hierarchy. Enter “*” to see all available users.
  • Click a dashboard component or its elements to drill down to the source report, filtered report, record detail page, or other URL.
  • Follow a dashboard to get updates posted to your feed.
  • Hover over a component to display the Hover menu icon for dashboard components menu. You can follow a component, post a snapshot to the dashboard feed, or post a snapshot to a user feed. To clear the hover menu, click an empty part of the screen.

Using the drop-down menu, highlight a dashboard, to navigate to that particular dashboard.

This can provide a snapshot of key metrics and performance indicators for your organization (based on source reports). Each dashboard can have up to 20 components (three are shown above).

Click a dashboard component or its elements to drill down to the source report, filtered report, record detail page, or other URL.

Click Go To dashboard list to navigate to the Dashboard List view

From this page, you can:

  1.  Search for reports.
  2.  Select or create a folder.
    1. The Folder drop-down list includes all report folders you can access. 
  3. Click the View drop-down to sort between:
    1. All Items
    2. Recently Viewed
    3. Items I'm Following
    4. Items I Created
  4. Click the Type drop-down to sort between:
    1. Reports
    2. Dashboards        
  5. Click New Report to begin a new report. Click New Dashboard to begin a new dashboard
  6. Click a report name to run the report.
  7. Click Edit next to a report to customize it. Click Delete to remove from folder and place in Recycling Bin.
