1 - Getting Started with the AdvoLogix® Connector for Salesforce® and iManage®


Make sure to allocate time to plan your implementation. Consider factors such as which objects will hosted with connector to display workspaces and who will be able to create new workspaces. If you are unfamiliar with either AdvoLogix or iManage Work make sure to review the requisite documentation before getting started.

1. Installation Requirements
1.1. Package Installation

Contact AdvoLogix Support ( and request AdvoLogix® Connector for Salesforce® and iManage® package link and complete the installation within your organization.

1.2. Request Approval for Authentication URL with AdvoLogix

Once package has been installed, then provide AdvoLogix Support ( with your Organization ID and your organization's Redirect URL for authentication approval with iManage Work.

Once your Redirect URL has been approved, you should continue to the Setup below.

2. Setup
2.1. Salesforce® Permissions Check

Proceed to next step if you are a Salesforce Administrator within your organization, otherwise please contact your Salesforce Administrator for help.

2.2. iManage® Permissions Check

Proceed to next step if you are a member of NRTADMIN group or assigned a role with Tier 2 Control Center privileges.

2.3. Determine your iManage® Work server instance

Is it an iManage on-premise edition?

AdvoLogix do not officially support on-premise edition. Please contact AdvoLogix Support ( to understand your options.

Is it a shared iManage Cloud?

Is it a private iManage Cloud?

2.4. Setting up Configuration in Salesforce

After adding the application within iManage Control Center, proceed to setup the configuration within Salesforce for authenticating the connector.

2.4.1. Set up Remote Site Setting

Proceed with setting up Remote Site Settings for allowing communicating the connector with iManage Work server instance.

2.4.2. Set up iManage Configuration

Proceed with setting up iManage Configuration with your iManage Work specific configuration settings.

2.4.3. Set up permission for your Salesforce users

Proceed with setting up permission for your Salesforce users with connector specific permission using AdvoLogix packaged permission sets.

2.4.4. Set up Connector Specific Configurations (Optional)

Proceed with setting up various configurations that may be unique to your implementation within your organization. Some configurations mentioned below might be useful to your use case and some might not, so proceed with an understanding over how your users are to be deployed with various lightning components that AdvoLogix® connector for iManage® and Salesforce® ships with. Set up iManage Workspace Configurations

If your use case involves associating workspaces from iManage Work directly with your Salesforce records, then proceed with setting up iManage Workspace Configuration for all the objects iManage Connector lightning component is deployed within respective lightning record pages. Set up Notification Settings

If your use case involves listening for changes that happens within iManage Work and execute custom actions within your Salesforce organization then proceed with setting up Notification Settings and setup a Salesforce Flow for notifications that are generated and enabled within this configuration.

If your use case involves giving your Salesforce users access to specific set of folders or documents within iManage Work without giving them ability to add or remove these folders themselves, then proceed with setting up Featured Items Configurations within Featured Items Manager. Set up Secured Logins

If your use case involves giving your Digital Experience (Community) users access to iManage Work without setting them up individually within your iManage Work as dedicated users, then proceed with enabling a set of your Salesforce users as Secured Logins so that the iManage lightning components or APEX invocable action methods can be executed with delegated authentication and permissions of the Secured Login user within your organization.
